  1. I don’t know much about classical music either, but I do know that you can easily find a lot of “Best of Classical” types of CDs and downloads. I would start there.

As for jazz, anything by Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Grant Green, Miles Davis, Nina Simone and Norah Jones, Wynton Marsalis, David Sanborn, etc. Again, look for anything labeled “Best of Jazz” and the like. Compilations are always a fantastic way to go when first introducing yourself to a type of music.

  2. I would look up probably on youtube the songs that the person below said. You might also want to include Chris Botti, he’s excellent. You might want to look at theknot.com and see what kind of suggestions they have.

  3. Classical songs:

“Romance” by Clara Schumann- it’s a violin and piano piece
“The Four Seasons” by Vivaldi. “Spring” is my favorite movement, but you could play all four, depending on how much variety you like, and if they all keep your interest.
    Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”

    Jazzy type pieces:

“I Got Rhythm” – lots of artists have recorded this tune
    “Blue Skies” – Betty Hutton
“Someone to Watch Over Me” – George Gershwin wrote this and it’s perfect to salute your like
“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” – Judy Garland
“I’ve Got You Under My Skin” – Frank Sinatra

You can find all these and more on Youtube. When you access a video, it will also give you suggestions on the right side of similar artists and songs.
